IOM opens work on a new project related to Roma communities in Bulgaria

Among the participants in the online conference were over 60 people from various NGOs and government institutions in Bulgaria, including key figures in the International Projects Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, the Bulgarian Red Cross, the State Agency for Child Protection, the Central Coordination Unit at the Council of Ministers, the National Council. Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Bulgarian Platform for International Development, National Network of Health Mediators, Minority Health Problems Foundation, etc., as well as from the donor - the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

The event was opened by Mr. Radoslav Stamenkov, Head of the IOM Mission in Bulgaria. The participants got acquainted with the team of IOM partners in the person of Consortium "BASP-NMZM-FZPM". The stages of the project and information about the methodology and field work on the development of the comparative analysis-assessment of the information needs of the Roma communities were presented in detail.

After the presentation of the project, a discussion was held, in which representatives of the General Directorate of the National Police and the Social Assistance Agency also took part.

The project is funded under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
