Training for health, educational and labour mediators from Blagoevgrad
IOM Bulgaria, in partnership with the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (LCCTHB), the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Council of Ministers and the Municipality of Blagoevgrad conducted a training for health, educational and labour mediators from Blagoevgrad area on the topic of “Trafficking in human beings: arguments, identification and protection of victims”.
The event was opened by the Secretary of the Municipality of Blagoevgrad and head of the LCCTHB David Arabadjiev. He made a brief situational analysis of the law infringements in Bulgaria.
Teodora Nikolova and Yavor Lilov from the International Organization for Migration, in turn, presented to the participants the connection between labour migration and human trafficking. The LCCTHB Secretary Lyubka Kostadinova drew the audience's attention to the types of abuse providing real-life examples.
