IOM Bulgaria in cooperation with LCCTH Plovdiv conducted regional training for health, education and labor mediators.
IOM Bulgaria in cooperation with the local office of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Plovdiv conducted regional training for health, education and labor mediators on May 19 at the Boris Christoff House of Culture.
The aim of the event was to contribute to raising awareness among the Roma population in the realm of legislation governing asylum and migration, including the risk of abuse and exploitation.
The training was attended by around 30 health, educational and labor mediators from the region. The attendees received valuable information about the rights and obligations citizens have in legal migration to EU/EEA countries. They got acquainted with the topics related to migration such as human trafficking and smuggling, the risks of labor exploitation in the EU/EEA and protection from exploitation, living and working conditions, as well as access to social and health services.
